The Journey So Far
Finishing High School
After finishing high school, I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do. Like many others, I decided to start with Criminology at Carleton University. However, after just a month, I realized it wasn’t the right path for me. I dropped out and took the rest of the year to figure out what I truly wanted to pursue.
The Foundation of Design
Realizing I wanted to pursue something creative, I enrolled in the Design Foundations program at Algonquin College. This experience allowed me to explore different areas of design and discover my specific interests. Initially, I considered Interior Design, but as the program progressed, I realized it wasn’t the right fit for me.
Graphic Design
Starting the Graphic Design program, I was able to refine my skills in the Adobe Suite. With only the basic skills I had from Design Foundations, I quickly improved my technical abilities and problem-solving skills. What once felt like limitations in my skill set have now transformed into strengths. Not only has my knowledge of design expanded, but so has my eye for detail and creativity.
The End of the Beginning
Now, at the end of my program, I’m excited to apply everything I’ve learned. I can’t wait to join the design industry and create work that I’m proud of. I look forward to continuing to learn, refining my skills, and growing as a designer. This new chapter brings exciting challenges, and I’m eager to take them on.
